RotherFed to continue leading the Golden 7 project working with a wider range of community volunteers, linking people together particularly in communities where they are under-represented. This often involves working with individual volunteers as well as organised groups. This work will be also link people in with established or new TARAs wherever possible.

(i) Targeted work in geographic areas of deprivation

(ii) Working with under represented communities of interest

(iii) Golden Seven

c. Strategic Leadership

With the major changes and expectations on communities as enshrined in the Localism Act, RotherFed is well placed to take a leadership role working with local Rotherham’s local communities and our partners at RMBC and VAR to engage proactively with such changes. We are collaborating with VAR to be the two lead organisations for the Communities First programme in Rotherham.

i. To support the community sector to respond to the changes brought about by the Localism Act

ii. For Rother Fed to build its capacity to represent members and be engaged in strategic decisions

iii. To develop and support non-political campaigning tools and mechanisms for groups

iv. Subregional, regional and national networking
