The Government is introducing a community right to build allowing communities to get together and take forward developments for new homes, shops and facilities in the area. They will also allow community organisations to take forward a development without an application for planning permission, if there is overwhelming community support for the development and minimum criteria are met. Community halls and sports facilities could be included .
