Manor Farm TARA
Manor Farm TARA have leased, at a peppercorn rent, a shop at the centre of the Manor Farm estate in Rawmarsh. The shop is multifunctional - an office space for the TARA, a hub for meetings for various community groups, a place where community training is held and a drop-in centre for everyone on the estate. Police support officers, neighbourhood champions and neighbourhood wardens also use the community shop and meet residents there. This peppercorn rent ends this month, replaced by a commercial rent of £1800 a year. Payment of this would cripple the groups community activities. A subsidy towards this market rent could enable Manor Farm TARA to continue the work it does in the community . The group meets at 7.30pm on the first Monday of every month at the community shop. All tenants and residents are welcome.
Manor Farm TARA received a £500 cheque on 19th December 2007 from Rother Fed towards their office and accommodation costs.
At their Annual General Meeting on 7 April all officers were re-elected. The accounts were presented to the meeting and accepted. Rother Fed were thanked for their financial assistance, and the presence of Member Development Officer, Alan Goy.
