Rawmarsh Area TARA
The Play and Learn bus visited Bellowes Road on Wednesday 11th June 2008.
Rawmarsh Area Tenants and Residents Group and Greenfields Residents Group in Rawmarsh got together on Bank Holiday Monday at the end of March 2008 to host an Easter Tea in order to bring the community together and also to raise money for the Rotherham Lions. Linda Sales, Chair of the Rawmarsh Area Tenants and Residents Group wanted to unite the community, some of which don’t see relatives over the Easter holidays. As well as supporting Rotherham Lions, Linda wished to thank Angie’s fruit shop for donating a basket of fruit and veg and to Liz Booth for donating an easter egg for this event. This group won the Rother Fed Good Practice Helping Others Award for 2007 for helping tenants in the Greenfields Centre setup their own tenants group. They have also helped them with their decent homes and with working with other partners.
The BETs team came to cut down and remove rubbish from around the centre at Green Rawmarsh. Linda Sales phoned Mick Lunn from the BETs team who came out the next day, on Monday 18th February 2008 and looked at what was needed. They came out on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th and did the work required. Rawmarsh TARA and Greenfield residents put on pie and peas to show their thanks.
